The piece
About this creation
A pocket piece for anyone who would rather carry the black dog than meet him. Black Shuck is cut deep into solid brass, with Blythburgh and the year of the storm running around the rim.
Turn it in the light and the engraving shifts from gold to shadow, which feels about right for a dog nobody ever saw clearly.
