The piece
The dragon that came out of the Stour valley in 1405, ate a shepherd and his flock, and shrugged off every arrow the men of Sir Richard de Waldegrave could loose at it. It lies coiled among the reeds with its crest raised and broken shafts scattered along its spine, where they rang off its hide like iron.
The largest piece in the collection, and the one most likely to start an argument about whether it was ever really killed.
